Decided that after selling all my Nikon 35mm kit to go digital with a Canon I just could not face the summer without a 35mm camera. So to use my new Canon lenses I needed a Canon body.
I went for a 20 year old eos600 on eBay and won it for £10,00. It was described as "good condition" which we all know in eBay speak can mean anything, also there was only one poor quality photo of the camera.
I did ask the question "do all the functions work as they should" again I got "I think so" which again means I hope so but I am not sure.
Got the camera today, I was hoping for a slightly scruffy, "it is 20 years old" body which hopefully worked.
IT'S MINT I know what mint means and this body is. Not a mark anywhere I don't think the strap has ever been fitted and no witness marks where a flash gun has been used. ALSO it works as it should and has a good battery.
Problem now is it's a real collectors item. Not many around now and I want a camera to use, not one to keep in a cabinet. There' just no pleasing some folk.

The EOS 620 (almost the same as the 600) was my first auto-focus camera in 1987 and I loved it! Paid a lot more than £10 though :p You got a bargain there, but it would be a criminal waste not to use it!

Yes I think the sound these old cameras make is half of the appeal. "The sound of a real camera" Like the sound of a real motor bike, or a real car! Nowhere near as efficient as modern stuff but what fun.

I had an EOS 600 and it was superb! Much better AF than the earlier 650 and as good as the 100 but not as quiet.
