Today is my first day freelancing and I've now got four jobs in so far for this afternoon and evening.

First is a nursery where the kids are dressed up for Children in Need (I should think there will be plenty more of these as the day goes on). Then I am covering a Guinness World record attempt, apparently someone is going for the record of the most inflated bouncy castles in a line (I didn't ask   :D ), he is going for 23, they want them all in the shot and the weather is dark, gloomy and wet, should be interesting.

This evening it is the opening of an art exhibition and then onto a bowls club awards evening.

Variety is the spice of life they say.

Wow it sounds wonderful, I'm jealous!

Wish I could do that for a living, although I imagine the hours could get quite tedious.

well done, that's quite an introduction :)

Nice one! Hope it all goes well!

Superb stuff!

Welcome to the never ending glamour that is snapping for a living. ;)

Comfy shoes and a raincoat.

Best of luck. Hope it goes well

Don't forget the speed graphic!

oh and some form of id?

Well Done Hacker....look forward to hearing how you get on today...

Good Luck Mate...

Bowls club awards sounds like quite an exciting finale to the day :)

Good luck!

Congrats Colin, let us know how your first day goes

Funnily enough the world record attempt has been cancelled so it looks like an easy afternoon.

It's tough at the top, but there's a lot more room. ;)

Hope you have more fun than me today, sat outside a hotel in the ******* rain and cold, howling gale waiting for Christina b####y Aguilera to turn up which she didn't!!!!
Oh and btw GOOD LUCK and enjoy.

Ouch! That is not nice. :shake: A real waste of a day.

Just finished my first job, it was a big group of pre-school kids and adults, 34 in total all in one tiny room. :bang: Had to use the 10-20mm in the end just to get them in and then lens correct in CS2, they've just been uploaded so I can now kick back and relax until about 7.30pm.

Good luck with it and hope you keep busy.

To be honest it's not something I'd considered, I sent some images from a gig to the Hertfordshire Mercury a few months ago and the editor really liked them, he recommended that I should contact the agency which I finally got around to doing last week.

There are a lot of part time freelancers out there who combine it with other jobs, give your local paper a call, they can only say no but if you have a half decent portfolio I'm sure you could pick up some work.

I thought I was going to be busy today but I've only got three jobs on, the first one took about an hour including travelling and I'll be out for about 2 hours tonight, the good thing is I get paid the daily rate whether it's 3 jobs or 13.

Hee Hee, 1st day and they take away your bouncy castle.

It's the old story; yesterday they were trying to recuit you, today you are staff! ;)

Good luck with the job mate

Hope it's all gone well Colin. Look forward to hearing about it later!

Good on yer Colin ... I hope it works out for you m8 ...

Whatever you do enjoy it ... and do your usual stuff with the pics ...:D
