Yes I know that you can buy it but how about making your own!
I was clearing out a lot of old document files and I came across the recipe - give it a go.

Playdough

2 cups flour
2 cups water
1 cup salt
1 tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons cream of tartare food colouring

Cook on medium heat stirring all the time using a wooden spoon.
It will solidify.
Continue to cook if you can but avoid burning.
Turn onto floured board.
Keep in airtight container or plastic bag.

If you make models with it and leave them out they will harden - good for Xmas Tree decorations!

Maybe will give that a go in a couple of years!

Im off the the kitchen to play be back soon

Used to do this with my mother all the time when I was younger. She worked as a nursery nurse and would spend the holidays with her helping out!

Really should make some with my own child now.

I do this with mine and my older 2 when they were younger, it is so much better than shop stuff.. easier for them to play with as it's softer, they can also have fun with different food colouring and vary the colours..

At halloween we had black with glitter:D

Sweet!!! Something to do with the girls 2mw as it will no doubt be raining.

Our 5yr old loves Plasticine and playdough - she's forever getting it all mixed up, leaving it out of the box to harden etc ... then looks for more. I might give this a try some wet evening :)

Think I might make some of that even without the excuse of having kids :)

I'm glad that some of you may give it a try.
Don't forget the photos
