i want to try out this tutorial but cant fathom out how to open two images in photoshop at the same time.
could someone be so kind to tell me please.
 
Just drag two in or select two in bridge and double click
 
thanks wayne but all i end up with is one on top of the other how do i put them side by side.
 
Window (top toolbar)>Arrange>Tile should do it.

You can also try dragging the top part of the boarder of your image(s). Without seeing how you're set up, it's a bit difficult to know what's happening!
 
Are you using Elements 9 ?
If so you need to click Windows / Images / Tile.
If the Tile option is greyed out you need to change one of the preferences, go to Edit / Preferences / General and then tick Allow Floating Documents in Full Edit Mode.
 
If you're using Elements 9, then next to Help is an icon with an arrow, click on the arrow and you can open photo's 2, 3, 4 at a time, side by side, one on top of the other etc.
 
im using cs5 guys do these instructions hold true for cs5 i will have a look and see.
 
think i have sussed it along the top is a box that says screen mode when you hover your pointer over it next to that is a box that says arrange documents click this and then click the box that says two up and you get two images side by side.
