I've bought my camera now, well it's on it's way....canon 650d. I'm in need of a memory card now? Where's the best place to buy a memory card from? Was thinking a 8gb should do me.... Also want a rucksack/backpack looking to carry my camera 2 lenses and if possible my go pro camera any ideas there's so many out there.... Not looking to spend a fortune thou... Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Steve.

Snap with the camera, 650D is great, eBay for cheap M. Cards, if you are going to video record then you need a quality card but even the local supermarket sell cheap cards.... Mark

memory cards - Amazon Sandisk cards are very well priced. here
Lowepro is the bag of choice but can cost a bit

Look at the fancier kingkong bags. I have the 30. Quality bags and a very good price too.

As a fellow 650d owner I would recommend buying one suitable for your needs. I found the buffer filled quickly on continuous shooting with cheaper cards whilst covering motorsport last year. Advised by a fellow fogger and one class 10 extreme later things improved with the better writing speeds.

Great cameras which I'm sure you'll enjoy as I have.

Hi Steve, congrats on your camera purchase, my wife shoots with a 650D and absolutely loves it. As for the accessories, if you have a camera shop local to you then go and have a look at their bags and take your gear in to try and see how it fits. As for a card I use Duracell 16Gb cards and the wife has never half filled one in a day so 8Gb should be plenty, unless you're going to shoot raw then the bigger the better.

Sandisk are a often recommended card make but I've had no problems with any of my Duracell cards (I've got 12 assorted types all 16Gb). There's also Kingston, Lexar and Transcend which are popular too and I'd suggest whatever make you get a fast card such as a Class 10 (at least 6 or above) is your best bet.

If you haven't a local shop then have a look on Amazon as they seem to have quite a few decent priced accessories usually. You could always have a look through here http://www.cambags.com/news.html to find a decent bag too. Good luck on whatever you choose and lets see some of your photos on here soon, but most importantly, ENJOY YOURSELF.

Many thanks.

Im not sure, I havent attempted shooting film yet. Sorry

I've ordered 2 16gb class 10 memory cards, also the kingkong 30.... Chatting to my buddy at ok he's suggeted getting a uv filter to drop straight on the lens when I arrives? eBay job? Cheers

There are several different brands of filters, ideally you wouldn't want to go for a super cheap one.

As for a backpack, I own a lowepro one that has several compartments, even a slot in the back for a laptop.. I'll get the model for you to have a look at, I think it was £40.

Just had a quick check through my amazon order history, my backpack is the Lowepro Fastpack 350... It was also only £30 when I got it.

Also what size of filter is it you need?

Get you camera use it and then spend your money on other items. Don't do what I did and buy thing that you may never use or need...
