I know there are quite a few out there that are more capable than me for finding the info from a small amount of info.

We are keep getting calls at my place of work for an ex-employee that left around 2-3 years ago. They want his personal info. We wont give it out.
We would be breaking a few laws if we did (DPA for one I would think)

This delightful bunch have been told that he has not worked for us for X amount of time, it is not company policy to give out info like this. There reply was that we will continue to keep calling at all times until you give us the details.

I would like some detail for this unknown company, the only thing showing up on the phones when they ring is 91968312.

Hope somebody can help.
Thanks in advance

report it to BT as a nuisance call

Thought about phoning the number and see if they answer with hello goddsmith associates or something.

be very circumspect about doing that
it may be a premium number scam @ £lots per minute

It's not a properly structured number, so the number will not be recognised. So I am having to get the girls on reception to log times of the calls, now I have been made aware of the issue. I will need this when I contact our service supplier.

Why not just say that you dont have any contact details for that ex-employee?

The girls have used this and just about every other comment they can think off. But still they keep calling. :bang:
I am having them pass me the calls now, just got to wait for the first one.

Next time they call, ask for their full details so you can forward the details on......then report them to the police.

The point is they wont give us any details as it is a 'personal matter' between them and the ex-employee.
Thats why I am asking for some help from the people in the know on this forum.
If I had details I w ould be laughing:lol:

you don't use the name grum on whocallsme.comn do you? Just found this number on there, posted 57 mins ago with the same details... them calling about an ex employee etc.

Will keep looking, haven't found anything as yet though

OMG I have been rumbled. :D Yeah thats me. I came across that site so I thought it was worth sticking the details up.

Why not just tell them the ex-employee works at the local police station.... but obviously only give them the phone number!

Sounds a lot like a debt collector to me, they'll often contact work places having "acquired" information from the tax office...

Next time they call ask to take a number so the person they're after can call them back, once you've got a real number you can get in touch with them and tell them to stop harassing you.

er 999 innit?

Having worked in Financial Services, and worked with debt collection agency's my first instinct was "debt collection" however....they would actually state where they were calling from.

"Can I speak with Mr Smith"
"Who's calling please"
"Its Adam calling from Debt Collection Services"

So I find it a little strange they wont give you any details, when they're trying to get details out of you!

When I read the thread title I thought you were lonely & wanted somebody to phone you :D

Looks like an ACD number to me. Sort of internal to the company (difficult to explain). Who do you work for?? Might be worth talking to you system manager (or who ever looks after the telephones). Give them the number and say that your getting dodgy calls. It should then be a simple case of removing the number from the routing on telephone switch. When the people call the switch will not know what to do with it and reject it.

Log all occurances of the calls - contact BT.

Or, say 'give me your number and i'll ring you back in 20 mins with the info'...

Would not expect an employer to give out employee information [past or present] to an unknown company/person over the telephone.

Why not ask them to write in for that information.

Tom

Complete and utter long shot, but do they have strong Northern Irish accents? If you add 028 (the NI dialling code) to that number it might get you through to a premise in Bangor NI.

Agree with pxl8, it's a debt collection agency Click Here or are you the same person who posted at the link ? 91 being the country code for India. Keeping them on hold for a long time will soon get rid of them as I'm sure it won't be cheap phone calls:lol:

posted as an update on whocalls me................

The call is from a company called HFO Services. I too am getting bombarded with calls.

They keep calling me requesting I pay them the money I owe to Barclaycard, but they ain't getting it. I want to take it to court, but they do not understand plain English by the sounds of it.
......................
deffo a debt collecting company then.

Had a look back at the posting (yeah it was me) and have got an answer.
The 91 option, still not enough digits to make a number even for the sub continent.

Cheerz to all that have looked and helped.

Will keep this updated if I get anywhere tomorrow.

possibly a voip call with spoofed caller id?

I'd go with contacting bt - they can do a better job of tracing it than you can and can pull the calls anyway

Why not just give them some serious and I mean serious verbal abuse::D even if it doesn't stop them doing it? it would be fun  or just put them on hold and walk away :)

Of course they don't want to go to court, if that happens the collection agency doesn't get paid.

edit to add: If they're a debt agency tell them you're logging the calls and you'll make a complaint of harrassment if they don't stop. Off the top of my head I can't remember who you'd put the complaint to but I'm sure google would pop up with the answer...

why dont you just put them on hold and put them through to piza take away, sex phone line, inland revenue, - or just the press the button an a panic alarm held very close to the phone...

or just play a funny game just repeat every word they say - they should just get ****ed off

So, they won't say who they are and they expect you to give out someones personal details to them  .... What planet are they on?
...if they knew him on a personal matter, they should have their personal details! If they don't then it is probably because the person in question didn't want to give them!

:agree: play games until they go away! :D :D :D

....or threaten them with the Police for harrassment, but the first one sounds more fun! :naughty:

sorry - but no! They could only state that it was on a personal matter. They would be breaking the law to state that it was debt related - even indirectly by stating the name of their company.

This is a European company with offices in India. The debtor (no one else) can tell debt chasers not to contact them again and, if they do, they can be done for harassment. This is UK law which is probably why this low life company call from India.

They want information - so give them some. Personally, I'd give them the phone number of a local councillor that I don't like. But you could always give them the number of their London office - 0208 417 8100 ;)

I have actually spoke with the UK manager, they tried to put me through to india.
He has agreed that this conduct is unacceptable, he is going to make sure our number is not now associated with the account they were chasing. I have all his details and was told to log any further calls and call him back straight away.

So far we have not had any calls. But now I have details, if we get any more I can pass them onto our telecoms providers nuisance service.

sounds like a result to me!

Wow, you must have been much nicer then, I had a run in with a company called 'Wescott', possibley the worst behaved debt collector that the UK has.
Rude, arrogant, spiteful and extremely offensive each time they called.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was Wescott that are pestering Geordi69.
