In this thread, I said "...this could actually be the last Multiblitz flash unit I buy – after nearly 40 years of brand loyalty..." well that didn't last long as a Profilux Plus 200 arrived in the post today. Whilst the Compact Plus might revel in its (very) light weight portability, the same can't be said for Profilux. Both 200ws with the same(ish) conversion to flash output, but the Profilux with a far shorter flash duration and re-cycle time.

Still light and small compared to many units on the market today, but this really has an air of purposefulness that the Compact Plus doesn't posses.

Whilst the only negative aspect to the Compact Plus was its overly lightweight build, I was more than happy with its functionality and the quality/quantity of the light output & the Profilux Plus addresses this aspect fully (albeit at a not insubstantial cost) and I'm back to being a Multiblitz man once again. I'll look forward to giving this unit a thorough shakedown over the coming weeks:D

Where did you buy it from?

Both units were sourced from Germany - the Compact Plus was new (but an old model) and the Profilux was ex-dem. In many instances the UK price (MrCad or Morco) is lower than mainland Europe, but there are some odd factors to take into account. Both these units were far cheaper than in the UK but will require shipping back to Germany for repair under warranty - however, such is my faith in Multiblitz reliability I don't expect that ever to be an issue.
