So I have loved the Nikon 10.5mm 2.8 fishy for a while now but only just seriously tested out some "correction" plugins.. I've gone with buying Fish Eye Hemi by image trends inc.

Here's what it does, some obvious, some not so. I post this just in case any of you have a fish eye and fancy making it extra useful just by using a plug in. Ultra Wide... voila.

seems to have done a good job of straightening curved vertical, nothing to fix horizontals though

I don't see it as correcting a fault. I see it as making it extra useful. A fish eye is meant to have curves
 
I'm really impressed with that, my Samyang 8mm even on my crop sensor gives really curved edges.
 
Give the trial a go mate, I was happy enough to buy it. Which takes some going!
 
You've also got the lens correction option in Lightroom ( and ACR as well). Which I think does a better job than the Hemi software, having used both
