GoPro replacement?

My aging hero 4 black is getting tatty, and well out of date tech wise. So I've been looking at a replacement. Looking at whats around I'm left with the hero 13, DJI action 5 or the Insta ace pro 2.
I'm after something for mostly vlogging/exploring in places that I dont fancy taking a Sony. Wet or dusty really. Low light is also a big plus.
After some reviews I've more or less ruled out the GoPro, it's not great in low light, battery life is the lowest, and one I was trying overheated and died after about 15 minutes, so it looks like thats still an issue.
So does anyone have any suggestions as to the Ace pro 2 or Action 5. Anybody have either or both to help me choose?

I had the DJI Action Pro 5 for a while (then realised that POV wasn't really me!) and it is a great bit of kit.
IIRC it has a 'Super Night' mode for extreme low light - there are some useful review videos on youtube, eg:

I upgraded my own Go Pro 7 a couple of years back, opted for a Go Pro 12, Insta Ace Pro and a DJI Pocket 3. Took all 3 on holiday with me. The Go Pro was useless in the dark - The Ace Pro p***ed all over it by comparison, however it was the Ace Pro that spent most of it's time in it's case - it's a total brick, there was no way that was getting chucked in the river. I thought the Pocket 3 out shone them both, but you can't get it wet, great for vlogging and using at night. I used the Go Pro during the daytime at events like Holi, that was the camera I gave out if anyone wanted to see what I was doing and wanted to mess with it. I was also aware of the awful overheating problems when filming at 4k/50fps, but it only happened once or twice thankfully, a battery swap or dunk in the river sorted that out.

have you given any thoughts about getting a compact camera?

one thing other can't but this can is stitching to make a large panaramic photo.

try doing this with any other camera

Although out of production, used ones still fetch over £400 and I can understand why, goes up in Jpeg setting to1440mm. I would not recommend anything unless I have or actually own said item.

It's a panasonic and sony compacts I'm using now, but I dont like taking them on a wind blown beach or crawling througha muddy tunnel. My hero 4 still works, but in the WP case the sound sucks, and it's rubbish in low light.

Just put up a better pana shot. I know nothing about hero4 or go pro cameras, so can't comment on what they can and can't do. But I bet hey don't have the features of the DC-TZ95 Pana camera

I've been using a GoPro Hero 10 as an underwater (snorkelling) video camera and for timelapses of sunsets. Even in the underwater housing (I know the GoPro is waterproof in itself but have managed to drown a couple of waterproof cameras in the past so use a housing as insurance!) the sound is reasonable. Built in lugs on the bottom of the GoPro keep it compact (they fold away when not in use.)

I occasionally have to use Gopros at work and I find them to be very poor, the software is flaky, they turn on and off at random and they are painful to set up. I use DJI drones and gimbals and have always found them to be the exact opposite to Gopros. Based on my experiences I will be replacing my Gopros soon with whatever DJI action is out at the time.
