Has anybody got any tips on Gopro's?

We are going to Lapland in December and have husky rides and snowmobile rides and was thinking of using a gopro to capture it all on either a chest harness or a head strap.

I don't want to spend loads as will probably be only time using it so an older one will be suitable. I want to be able to share straight from camera to my phone aswell.

Any tips would be great.

Buy the latest and sell it after?

A hero 5 session will be the cheapest camera to connect to your phone I think, I have the 5 with a screen and it connects to my phone

A friend at work has a yi camera and his footage looks ok too.

If I were in you now, I’d buy the 7 and sell it when you get back, even better if you can get it second hand too

Also, the harness will record what you see but if you got the wrist strap you can change between what you see and also recording some of yourself

Or...
Get a few cheaper clones and have several different viewpoints of the same action. Most of the clones use the same mounting system and assorted mounts (chest, head, wrist etc.) are available cheaply through Amazon and other sources.

My personal preference is for eye level or very low viewpoints but your PoV may well be different!

Enjoy the trip, whatever choices you make.

Bit off track but... The fusion looks good for this but needs a lot of computing power apparently.

A 360 camera might be good too, Ricoh theta s is fairly cheap now, about £80 and can do 10 minutes at a time, low quality but 360

I'm going in December too, probably a similar trip to this, I am looking to take my 2 Gopro's and have one on a chest strap with the other possibly on some sort of wrist strap. I just need to look at some gear to keep the batteries warm. I am taking my XT-3 plus a couple of smallish lenses to capture some still shots, hopefully there will be something good to use for this years Xmas card :)
