Hi, The mount on my GoPro head strap gripped the camera housing so tightly that it felt as if I would break it if I pushed any harder to adjust it and it actually creaked as I tried. Yes the thumbscrew was loose :)

I returned it and got a replacement direct from GoPro and the same thing is happening. My other mounts adjust as easily as one would expect when the thumbscrew is loosened.

Have I simply been unlucky twice or is this a general issue with the head strap mount?

Not used mine much but it worked ok when I tried it. Maybe a mix up and they sent the wrong one back?

Is the case a genuine one?
I'm in two minds about the copies which are typically less then half price.
I have had the clasp thing break on two - but one was actually the supplied one.
Maybe some sort of lubricant would ease it - wd40 or soap/wax?

Thank you for the feedback, guys.

It is a genuine product direct from GoPro.

I did consider using WD40 but first waned to make sure it wasn't a manufacturing fault. It seems to have eased, and the impression I get from You Tube videos is that it is a very snug fit.

And here's an odd thing: I contacted GoPro about it and they requested a video of me struggling to adjust it. Having seen the video they refused a replacement, saying that it would ease (and as said, indeed it has). However, since some of the black colour from the headstrap clasp had tainted the clear camera housing clasp, they offered to replace the housing!
