Google Streetview - Full UK coverage today

go to google.co.uk - maps - enter address - drag little pedestrian to 'blue' street!
 
my house was photographed 18 months ago - it's my old car outside!
 
All the lazy twocas can now see were the nice cars live and which houses don't appear to have alarms fiited, all from the comfort of their pits...hmmmm

because driving down the street themselves before was so impossible.
 
Just had a look at my house and the pics must have been done on a onday as the bins are out :lol:

Worryingly though they've updated the satelite pics too, previously you could see my old red Fiat Estate sitting outside the house, but now there is this sitting in the driveway

lol! The updates aren't always for 'newer' images, sometimes old but clearer images are added. If you use Google Earth there is an option to view all the available images for a certain area.
 
With a bit of detective work, I've worked out it was Wednesday 3rd June when the Google car was round here :)

I was at home, and my wife went to the opticians :p

It is already in Google Earth, new imagery tends to appear in Google Earth a day or so before it makes it into Google Maps, I think this new load of Street View stuff went to both at the same time.

There was a gallery on it a while ago on ebaumsworld, the one i could remember where 2 old dudes having a street fight, but there where many more. True a lot of the idiots on that site claimed it was all fake because google only looks down, obviously these keyboard warriors got corrected
 
The Googlemobile's just gone up the street! Maybe cos of the hammering I've been giving their server, or the people who I told were on it have complained...

the google car only went past my house on monday
 
sod being the poor b****r that has to drive up every road in a city. saying that must be even worse for the other person that has to catelog the images in order especially when coming to a crossroad or roundabout
 
I would imagine all the images are catalogued automatically, each shot is probably geotagged and then the system just pulls out the shots for that grid reference.

they should have put the cameras on top of DHL vans, mind you it would have been a much different view with them swerving about as they read their notes between jobs

It's not entirely countrywide - it doesn't cover a few places in North Yorkshire. Nor does it cover the place where I work.
 
It is far from a full street view, for starters my house aint on it :D
 
FYI you can request that an image(s) be removed from Street view by visiting the grid ref shot and clicking 'Report a Problem'.

We have had our work removed and one of my relatives has had their house removed. The image then just goes black for that 'section'.
