Apologies if this is already posted.

Up to now it's just been the cities but today they've rolled out full UK coverage of streetview on Google maps.

Great for finding landscape locations.

If you go to my street and look at my house you can see me mowing the lawn :) Not telling you lot where I live though, it's not the most flattering picture!

I'm just glad my grass had been cut and the dogs weren't 'at it' on the window sill.

Spent the best part of this morning going around all the places I have lived, interesting realised only 1 house has had a public road running outside it :( Thought I had found myself earlier, but not sure now.

I remember seeing the 'car' drive by,must have been nearly two years ago or so ?
The street has seen a few changes since then, new fencing and windows and my old caravan has gone to meet its maker
One thing that hasn't changed though looking now and that's the litter :bang:

I like the fact that the 'highlands' are now covered. All those wonderful views !

lol - my dad is on google earth :D

ha ha colin, Nice one

Kodak Photo CDs were too much expense for a local area project ten years ago, so muggins ended up having to scan the prints. I thought about updating the project this year, but now I don't see much point!

I found my dad too.

He's kind of pointing as if to say "what the...

They could've waited until after I'd had the drive resurfaced :(

I saw one of the cars on George Street in Edinburgh today. My sis and I might be on google streetview soon. I wonder why they are back in Edinburgh though?

Not sure about that as the main cities have been in for ages.

Perhaps they're updating or perhaps the driver lives there.

my neighbour is sat on the step at the front of her house. it should be easy to work out when it was taken, its a sunny day and there are very few of them in cumbria.

the house im currently in is for sale on the street view so i recon it is early last year maybe easter time

For my sister's area, the elder is in flower and there's a library van nearby, which narrows it down to four days in June, I suppose.

For my area, they've slipped in a snowy scene (Feb last year?) while all the rest is on a sunny weekday in March, I think.

is that because they have had to remove the images of you 'hangin' out with you wang out' in the front yard, they had to return to get some more internet friendly pictures :p:nuts:

My mini with pink pigs is on :yay:

and my neighbour cutting the lawn. My daisy harvest was doing very well......

They got me too!

Google got me!

Sorry, I don't know how to capture the image so I had to post the link! I remember the day well, and I've been waiting for it to appear, all ready to start screaming about invasion of privacy. However, they've given me some rather fetching soft focus, so I guess that's OK.

Or is it? I'm still not altogether comfortable with it.

I am impressed that that is the only frame you are on, it is like you appeared out of no where :p

Looking around St Helens, Knowsley Road was photographed round the middle of April as the sign outside Saints stadium was advertising the game on the 24th, however Rainford was done after June as my mate's new car was on his drive and that's when he got it...

I've been looking at all the houses I've lived in, I can find & identify 12 out of 15 at least one of the others has been knocked down :( even worse the tree in the front garden of another one I used to climb has gone as well :'(

Oh damn haha...I totally didn't notice this post and instead dragged up a thread about street view from about a year ago!
I've been looking at my old house and my grandparents' old house...very nostalgic, and strange.
I can tell this is going to take up hours of my time when I should be doing work instead :)

I can't be the only one who doesn't like this? :shake: I also can't really see the point of it either, other than as another excuse for people to sit at a computer and visit all those places they've always wanted to go to  and then get bombarded by all the Google ads telling them where they can stay, where they can eat etc, etc... Bit of a waste really as there will be nothing new to see .... even George Orwell didn't see this coming :D

My washing is out

We were done late summer on a Wednesday last year, looking at the shots around my house I fairly sure last two weeks in August.

My mate who went to Edinburgh last year for the Rugby League weekend said Google Maps was very handy to find out what the area looked like outside the hotel he was interested in. The hotel could bluff all they wanted to but people can now use this tool and see how it really looks (albeit 6 months old). He found a decent hotel in the end using Street View to check the location.

Have just checked out my old home town - it's changed loads since I was last there
The street where I currently live (in Canada) has just recently appeared on there - it wasn't on there for ages, even though all the surrounding streets were

they haven't got me :)
