Google street view, why?

I think its great. I have been having fun with it. My parents have recently moved house. I found their new house and had a look round their neighbourhood, and they live in Perth Australia.

Then I found the cottage we have booked for our holiday to Mull this year and the entrance to the estate we are staying on in the Highlands.

Great fun. I will defintely use it when booking holiday accomodation.

It's handy for finding areas with lots of prostitutes but it's a bit annoying they blank the faces out because i can't see if it's worth the trip or not

mind you, you dont want one looking like... , or :nuts:

I have found it useful for checking out places I'm going to visit. I have to take one of my cats to see a new vet tomorrow in a town about a 40 min drive away. Now I know what the building looks like and where it is in relation to other nearby landmarks. Much easier than looking for a name or number on a busy highway!

Read a Sci-fi novel by Asimov many years ago (one of the I Robot or R Daneel series) where people stopped meeting face to face except for sex and, they used computers to chat and robots to go out for shopping etc.

Worrying thought isn't it?

This afternoon, i took a long trip down sunset bulevard, route 66, times square, past the whitehouse, leicster square, (i tried area 51 but security was too tight) and all this was in the space of 1 hour and without the use of a flux capacitor. So yes Google street is very useful i think. And for those out there that still don't see the point then i can name a lot of other things that are much more useless than google street view
