Done a search on this forum, nothing came up.

Just tried to do a search via Google, and it will not let me search until I click agree to their agreement!
Here is what it says.

Data we process when you use Google
  • When you search for a restaurant on Google Maps or watch a video on YouTube, for example, we process information about that activity – including information like the video you watched, device IDs, IP addresses, cookie data and location.
  • We also process the kind of information described above when you use apps or sites that use Google services like ads, Analytics and the YouTube video player.
Google is blocking my search, and says ) We’ll need you to do this in order to continue using Google services

It also says

Why we process it
We process this data for the purposes described in our policy, including to:

  • Help our services deliver more useful, customised content such as more relevant search results;
  • Improve the quality of our services and develop new ones;
  • Deliver ads based on your interests, including things like searches you've done or videos you've watched on YouTube;
  • Improve security by protecting against fraud and abuse; and
  • Conduct analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used.
Combining data
We also combine data among our services and across your devices for these purposes. For example, we use data from trillions of search queries to build spell-correction models that we use across all of our services, and we combine data to alert you and other users to potential security risks.

You think Bing, owned by Microsoft, is any better? Click the agreement and get on with life. Imagine 100 square metres of beach, then imagine trying to pick out one grain of sand on that beach, you are less than that to google. No one is going to look at your info, a computer algorithm will so that it can choose some pointless adverts for you.

Or you can get yourself a tinfoil hat and go live in in a cave...

Using Bing anyway, only use Google for maps etc :)
I keep un-installing bing,next time I look at the list of programmes, the damned thing is back again :(

I always keep the weather live on my phone as its quite important to my job, so there fore its always connected to the internet.
I went to a local shopping complex, 3 or 4 miles away, awhile back.
By the time I got home I had an advert telling me the latest deals at Morrison's, although Morrison was in the same complex, I never went in there,
but was a couple of hundred yards away.
I'm sure that I wasn't being tracked ;)
Now I turn off the internet when I'm not working, or actually using it ;)

edit was typing while t'other Chris was posting

Just a pain having to keep ticking and clicking agree, or they wont let you use google. Well sod em, their search is very limiting anyway. The results google gives is what they decide you have, you dont get many independent websites in their search results. Whereas other engines give results from a vastly different area, some don't show on google!

Use google to find other search engines...

I suppose they would list Google at the top, and all the other masses would be missed out. Doing a search on little known search engines does bring up some very interesting sites, but google always lists shops and other business, a bit predictable what they offer in results really..

Not had that. Just been using Google for the past hour. No different to how it's always been.

Yes I must have been :oops: :$, I just done a history clear out and tried searching. All running smooth again, google is now searchable again.. Thanks (y)
