Google ranking question

Does anyone know how google ranking works:shrug:

I have searched phrases that hope I am ranked for & appear on page 1 or 2 for them on my pc, when Mrs Glyn searches exactly the same terms on her laptop & I am number 1 or 2 on page 1

Any ideas how this can be, does gogle show different results everytime, but then if this is the case why do I always rank higher on her machine than my own:shrug:

Problem solved, its all to do with cookies that were on the good ladies laptop, clear them & we get the same results.
