Google Chrome not opening new tabs?

Been running Google chrome for a while but recently when i open new tabs the page shows as loaded at the top of the tab but when I click on the tab I get just a white screen. Tried Microsoft Edge which doesn't seem to suffer the same. Have uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled it but still does the same.

Any ideas or should I just give up on Chrome and get used to Edge?

Try Opera (uses Chrome engine) or Vivaldi instead. My favourite is Firefox, but it's a very resource-hungry program these days.

I'll look both of those up. any idea if they do a version for Android phones as I found having Chrome on my phone and laptop was handy specially saving links etc

Done both and its still the same.

Opera and opera mini are available for Android.

9/10 times Chrome plays up I find that going to the Settings and About results in Chrome suddenly realising there's an update it's forgotten to do, once complete it usually behaves itself.. at least until the next missed update.

I'll have a look into that.

I've reinstalled it and checked for updates and all seems to be working ok so far!
