Noticed the other day I was getting Aussie sites in searches, just noticed that when I type into the bar (using Macbook, Safari) and hit enter google au comes up. No idea why as it seems to be a recent thing Tried changing location and it still uses aussie. Help!

Are you using a proxy server or a filtering system like messagelabs? Sometimes they break out into different geographies and sites like google pick that up and try to offer you the local content.

Been with plus net for ages, although since I asked for MAC code I swear it's slower and now this. No idea what a proxy server is!!

And on iPads/iPhone on same wifi all organics are uk while all Adwords are Aussie.

Try going to http://whatismyipaddress.com

It shows your external IP address (as assigned by your ISP), and also which country it thinks it belongs to. It would be interesting to see if Plusnet is using a range that might have been previously associated with Australia.

Comes up as London. All looks ok there.

Last resort, but clean out all your cookies in case there's a tracking cookie in there?
Can't see why it would work given you have the similar issue on multiple devices, but...

Will try. Just tried work iPhone (only got Friday) and using same wifi it all seems fine (ie local to me and non Aussie) unlike personal one.

Not sure if it's related but, I've noticed recently that I can't set my location manually when using Chrome, clicking on "search tools" does nothing.

I've just developed an Aussie bias on my Google searches too. Google knows where I am (in France) but wants me to buy my socks in Perth or Sydney!

Turn your computer upside down.

Might confuse it and put it back to the UK.

If you are logged into Google, it will use some Google settings. Logout in the top right corner of the search results page. And see if that helps.

Also, you should be able to "manage search engines" in your browser. Or try a different browser. Opera, for example, lets you setup and changes search tools easily.
