Goodwood Revival Meeting

I'm going Sunday, just trying to decided which period camera to take :D

I am there Friday Nick. Better racing on the Sunday but I prefer the Friday as it's not so busy. Weather looks good but you might see a bit of rain late afternoon on Sunday according to the BBC. Hope you get a good day.

My camera choice is simple; I only have the Hasselblad at the moment! The Dynax 9 and XD11 are both being repaired and my son mugged me for my XA3 for a trip to Wales this week.

I'm working Friday, actually covering for some guys that go of all tree days. I haven't been for about 5 years so looking forward to going again. I think I may give the Rolleiflex another run out, it's period and looks the part, all I need is a press pass to stick in the Trilby

...and a trilby to hold the press pass.

...and a trilby to hold the press pass.

Having covered it last year for an agency it was more like having 4 hands in order to tie the parcel string through the thin card press pass around your upper arm tightly enough it doesn't slip off.

Revival is an excellent event and I love the nostalgia and spectacle of everyone in period clothing but it is without a doubt a pain to operate as a pro photographer trying to work under the charade of the period and the pressure to conform by the organisers

And no I'm not doing it again this year....

Cripes. How did you break a dynax 9?? I though they never failed!

The shutter button pinged off! The inside of the button had a small thread so I assume inside the body there is now a tiny screw. Fortunately it happened on a big shiny floor (at the Turner Contemporary) and I managed to retrieve both the button and the little tiny spring too! It's all currently being repaired.

I'm now planning on keeping my dynax in some kind of net thing just in case it has the same affliction and I'm somewhere without a shiny floor!

speaking of dynaxs, is there anything super cheap and better than my dynax 5? Guess It would be viewfinder coverage is the main downside.
the 7 is 150 quid or above on ebay :-O
