Feeling dreadful today. Had to take our very old cat to the vets for the last time this morning.

She took a turn for the worse last night and it just didn't seem fair to let her suffer. The vet said at her age that it was highly unlikely any treatment would work, she was somewhere in the region of 17-20 years old. Hard to say for sure as she had been a stray.

Goodnight sweetheart, see you at the bridge.

Hi Betty,

Trust me when you work as a volunteer for a dog rescue having the knowledge that you will have pals waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge when you eventually go is a good thing.

Not too sure our cat will be too happy about sharing with a few Staffords but the thought has made me smile.:)

Ive lost a few cats in my lifetime, its awful outliving them all :(

A friend of mine sent me the "Rainbow Bridge" story some time ago, and I really, really believe in it, its so lovely, and I am crying now thinking about it! Soppy moo :D

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss Andrea! To me losing a pet is the same as losing a family member... :'(
 
My condolences Andrea.

We expect to outlive our pets but when the inevitable happens it's always sad.

For me consolation comes from knowing that in the knowledge that I'd outlive them, I ensured that every day of their life with me was joyful, that they have wanted for nothing, been loved unconditionally and that when the day came I had the strength to end their suffering.
 
So sorry to hear that Andrea :( I've lost many pets over the years and know what you mean about 'the bridge'. (((hugs))).

With some of my family, I would rather loose the family member.

It's not fun loosing any pet. Sorry to hear about yours.
 
My cat Bodie was put to sleep saturday morning! 17years and 6months! had him since i was 9!

Bodie miss you little fella! :(
 
Sorry to hear about your cat - I can relate to loosing a very close pet and friend. :(
