What have they done to my old browser, cant get stuff off the screen asking me this and that about mozila, would I like to... whatever... Why keep changing everything all the time:(

Looking for simple from now on, going to try chrome, that seems nice and minimal. Any suggestions for simple, crap free browsers most welcome.

I jumped ship from Firefox a good while ago, just got way too bloated and slow. Been on Chrome since, hard to fault it.

my one gripe is that it doesn't do proper colour management, on Mac OS X at least.

What started my general hump was 'Funmoods' I don't know where it came from but by the time I got rid of it, I was in anything but a fun mood. I'm scared to click anything these days in case I join something or end up in a 'funmood'

I'll have a look at that iron thing 4WD,thanks.

I might add Iron has a free file hosting service which works fine here.

I am using the latest version of Firefox and i dont get any of those pop ups you mention. Are you sure your PC is not infected with some sort of malware?

Same here - using "Aurora 14a2" here and not seen that (nor on the linux box which has 12 on it, nor my work PC that has 13 on it... been Firefoxing since it was called Phoenix. Prefer not to use Chrome due to the T&C and what might be going on under the hood (and the fact I hate WebKit-based browsers - so Safari is out too)

Chrome is quickly catching up with ff. I'm trying opera at the min and liking it so far v quick and slick

Opera...slick....? wow never thought I would hear them words together. I have used Opera for many many years as a second browser (mainly because it can sit on my other monitor running irc and stuff) but it has so many issues displaying website correctly (or at least how other browsers display them) that I would never use it as my first browser.

Chrome or IE9 here :)

Well I use Chrome, but my recommendation would be ABF... (Anything But Firefox ;))

firefox (3.6.28) + noscript here. No speed issues at all.

I have Chrome and ie9 installed as well, can't say that I prefer either of them.

Chrome for me.

Safari a good second place

IE9? Well I'm sure it's fine, but I can never forgive them for IE6

Have to say as a long term firefox user I'm thinking of jumping ship too. I've a long built up dislike of IE so even if 9 is wonderful I can't see me using it. Might give Chrome a proper try soon.

Ff became almost unusable for me, now on chrome but will give ie9 a bash as there's some pretty clued up guys in this thread recommending it :-)

And that is how you hold a grudge :):D:D:D:) live and learn people, live and learn :)

IE9 for me as well.

Chrome/Chromium and IE 9

Firefox is so "noughties" and we're no longer in that era anymore.

If FF isn't working well then I think it is probably set up of the PC that is the problem.

For me it works quickly and has no pop ups or any other interruptions, but then so do other browsers.

Chrome for me. Log in on an computer and there is my home page. At home at work, Windows or Linux all the same.

Not at all. Like for like compared to ie9 and chrome, Firefox is rediculous at consuming memory for no reason.

does anyone else find that firefox takes an age to open the first page when you start it up on os x?

it can take my mac about 10 seconds to open the first tab after i've started it and the home screen is displayed.

it's getting on my pip now

Can't fault Firefox or Chrome. I use both. Firefox on my main computer and chrome on my laptop. Both fast, both rarely crash, both have the plugins I use. Can't complain.
