Evening all

Today is my day of "giving up the smoke".
I have now gone 11 hours without one; i feel fabulous! :D

Just wanted to share, as I think it is an achievement on my part and it is hard, but not as bad as i first thought.

Been smoking 8 and a half years; thought it was about time to get healthy and it is becoming alot more socially unacceptable; very strange.

:)

Just wanted to share

good luck - hang in there - it's worth it!

Keep going, I've lapsed a bit unfortunately!! :(

Well done, welcome to the majority!!

As with most lifestyle changes the first few weeks are the hardest. Stick through the hard times and it will be well worth it.

(Oh and treat yourself with the money you save!)

Good luck with it. I packed in ten years ago after smoking for over fourteen years. Best thing I ever did.

Thansk guys!

I am so treating myself to a new pair of Ugg's :D

*after the first month i do; terms and conditons set by the boy *

just when i thought there'd been an outbreak of sanity!

You know that happy feeling? That 'WOOHOOO' feeling you have?

Memorise it, keep it, and embrace it, and every day look at yourself in the mirror and remmber that feeling. You've beat it.

When you're feeling weak (which you will...expect it and you can deal with it), remember that feeling and think "I DONT want one...I've BEAT it!" and all of a sudden it will become much easier again

Good luck with it. I bought my 400D with the money i saved in the first 2 months.

Sadly I lapsed and haven't been ableto afford any new gear since :bonk:

Friend of mine gave up a 20 a day habit, she used to put the money into a jar then at the end of the year she'd book a holiday, haven't seen her for 10 years or more but she had some nice holidays while I knew her :)

Keep going - just think of all the lovely loot you'll save!!

I gave up 25 years ago, it was the best decision I ever made.

Well done, stick with it!
My advice would be to have some nicotine replacement (gum, pads etc) on standby for those moments when either tension or stress tries to get the better of you.
I smoked for 15 years and havent had a fag since April 28th this year. Nicorette helped in my times of need, despite it's nastyness it really stopped the cravings.
Never give up, never surrender!

Great news! You look much better without them :D

(hope you don't mind :) )

I gave up about 3 years ago. I noticed the biggest impact about 1 month after stopping, when I could breathe without wheazing.

Keep at it !! you've got too much support here now to go back anyway !! :)

Keep with it, I'm in my second week now, my stop day was last Saturday. You using patches or inhalator or anything? I'm using both and I find the inhalator is a lifesaver when I'm on the puter or out driving.

Feeling good still at day 3 :D

You'll feel even better tomorrow, and so on and so forth...:D

For me, about day 10 or so was where I started getting a bit jittery, get past this and you've cracked it !!

Keep going girl !!

I assumed it would be day 1 that would be the hardest
lol, i will keep going, thanks :)

Good for you.
Keep going just one day at a time.
I stopped 3years ago this month after 51 years of killing myself.:gag:
One large heart attack, and wheeziness, under the belt made me do it.
I now feel much better
, and go to the gym to keep myself in trim.

If i can do it you can too.
All the best of luck and will power to you.:thumbs:

Very well done kmlc...

I`m in the middle of it too... but only a couple of days so far.

Strange thing is I thought I`d miss it more but I expect that`ll come along.

Keep at it... and be strong.

Chuffed for ya. :)

Well done! and keep it up!

I spent a months ciggy money on jewellery, looked at it on my wrist each time I wanted a smoke, kept me going and Its now been years since I had a even a drag :)
