Yes
With the recent price increases to my Lightroom package I thinking of moving to Affinity something I had in mind for some time. What I will miss however is Lightroom's catalogue and keyword ability. Dose anyone have experience of a similar product which would sit alongside Affinity?

Your Lightroom Catalog will still work. You can still import and keyword images, but you cannot use the Develop Module.

Neofinder is a professional database designed for photos. Affinity is a wonderful program for photographers. Consider buying Topaz Photo AI. With Topaz have stopped using a diffuser and flash with outside macro and just use available light and shoot at up to ISO 25000, topaz simply removing any noise.

On1 photoraw. Has keywording and recognises your starring of photos in Lightroom.

There are a few choices, as mentioned above, but I would agree with @zarathu with Neofinder. Some aspects are a bit old fashioned but it's very fast and flexible including excellent technical support. It can also sit in the menu bar to allow instant searching even when its shut down.

Many thanks for the help after many years with Lightroom it's hard to find an easy way out but Affinity is probably my best bet aligned with one of the recommended 'databases'.

Try DigiKam, Free Open Source Software.
And another vote here for DigiKam. I like its tagging, face recognition, linking to external programs such as Affinity and support for grouping image files by filename (allowing raw and jpeg to linked).

Hope it all goes well.

Isn't Affinity more of a Photoshop alternative?
Yes, that’s what I thought.

Having been burned by Aperture’s demise I tend to take the view that whatever DAM I use is here today, but may not be tomorrow, so my filing and cataloguing needs to be able to work adequately without a DAM taking control.

Hang onto Bridge?
I don't think so. If you use LR for searching, it is very fast as it uses the catalogue which is a fast database. The Bridge might take hours or even days to find a few files which LR locates in less than half a second. I still use LR/PS and my subscription has not increased but when it does, I can change to annual payment.

when you cancel your adobe account they usually say hang on, we can give you X package for X amount of pounds and save you money, they did with me.
Alternatively lookout for Amazon special deals for the Photography plan which come up now and again.

I got rid of my Adobe subscription during Covid and moved to Affinity and On1 Photo Raw and do not regret it one bit. Through work I can now use install and use Photoshop and Lightroom on my home PC free of charge but I'm not tempted in any way to go back to Adobe.
