Well. After some time I thiink I'll be cancelling my subscription as it's changing from 9.99 to 14.99 a month. I could go with the 119 a year option, but as I'm still out of work and cannot afford many luxury things. So I'll have to look for an alternative. I tried Luminar Neo some months back and couldn't get the same results as Lightroom, but I'll have to stick with it I think.

Goodbye Adobe and your sh!tty subscription fees.

As it is free, perhaps give Canva's Affinity Studio, of which Affinity Photo is one element.

I have Neo, and rarely use it, I don't think its anywhere near the level of LR or PS, you could just go with just LRC for the £10 per month, as it can do pretty much everything PS can, unless your using any special effects or AI.

My current Adobe subscription doesn't run out until March 2026 and I don't see me paying the increased price so I've started playing with Nikon's NX Studio for editing but combine it with LrC's Library module for DAM as I make quite extensive use of collections. The only potential issue with my plan is that Adobe may stop LrC's library module from working once a subscription ends.

All of my raw files in LrC have sidecar files attached and NX Studio reads those and applies the various adjustments, keywords, etc., making the transfer relatively painless. Something I have notices already is that NX Studio gives much more pleasing colours and contrast straight out of the camera than Adobe and even uses the camera's D-Lighting settings speeding up the post processing.

NX Studio may not be as all-singing-all-dancing or as feature rich as Adobe's offerings but I'm at the stage in my photography journey where getting an acceptable (to me) finished article is more important than having a critically sharp, perfectly exposed and beautifully composed image. YMMV and that's perfectly fine (y)

The online version of photoshop is now free for 12 months which might help.

I use photoshop, but not a lot. I think I'll just get Neo.
