hello!

I am looking for a help to choose a tripod head!! (a stable tripod head) .

i am using Manfrotto 055XPROB. for now is ok., (but probably should think for a replacement for the near future.)

i have been using for some time - Giottos MH1300-652 and Its very unstable ! Could you give me some suggestions for a good realible tripod head please.

i use 5d mark3 with battery grip sometime,with lenses canon 16-35mm and canon 24-105mm f/4 IS

Ball head or pan & tilt?
What's your budget?
 
If your budget allows, a Manfrotto 410 Junior geared head would be (and is) my choice. Not quite as fast to set up as a ball or 3 way but once set, it's set! If you take the extra time spent faffing with a ball head once it's set (to adjust so the almost inevitable sag drops it to where you first wanted it!) into account, the 410 isn't slower IRL.
 
This is interesting. I've been considering the giottos 1311-652 so I'm glad I saw this thread as I don't think there's much difference between it and the 1300.

certainly vouch for the Manfrotto 410 or 405 geared heads - great for control but heavy.

Surprised you're Giottos isn't stable, i've used one of those with some big kit for wildlife and it was rocksteady. TBH either the 1300 or 1311 -652 is what i would recommend as a good all round head that won't break the bank.
 
M'frotto 410 is wonderful if you want precision over speed and don't mind lugging it around.

M'frotto 055 is a very good tripod, but if it's not up to the task I'm afraid the next step up is Gitzo. And BTW, Giottos make very good tripods - good for their individual specs and price for sure.

The kit you've listed there isn't very heavy so I would have thought the legs you've mentioned would be more than adequate with a suitable head.
