Hi, im after a good solid tripod for around the £100 mark, maybe a little more

It will be used mainly for firework displays and long exposures with a D300

It doesn't need to be light weight or compact as i have a cheap one for that.

manfrotto 190XPROB is available for around £80 if you look around, but a head will also cost you around £40-£50,so a total of around £120-£130...but well worth the cost.also redsnapper tripods have been well aclaimed by members on here, and redsnapper is also a member on here,do a search and it's all there for you

I cant fault Redsnapper.Good quality for the price and helpful guys also

:agree: I'll second that!

I was gonna go for a manfrotto 190XPRO & 804 RC2 head at about £135

but after reading reviews, i just bought the redsnapper tripod & Ball head last week, very good quality & very sturdy, well pleased with it.

I ordered it thursday morning, arrived friday lunchtime!!

£97.06 all in, after the 10% TP member discount.

I have a Manfrotto 488RC2 Head:

and a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod:

...that I'll probably be moving on next week if you can wait. The advantage would be that you can collect as we are in Huntingdon - save quite a few quid on postage. Assume on a 20% discount from new price and the bag is a bonus (is a bit muddy!), so, £130 cash and collected.

Comes with a bag that is large enough to leave the head attached to the tripod. Pretty sure that the boxes are in the loft.

If you may be interested, give me a shout.

Chris

Thanks for the replys

is the Manfrotto 055XProB worth the extra over the 190XPROB?

the redsnapper looks good too.

After doing a bit of research I'm going to go for the redsnapper with ball head

How do i go about getting the 10% discount?

You can also do it if paying by paypal payment, i just added an instruction to seller, and mentioned im a TP member, the the cash was refunded.

I'll bet nearly every tripod retailing genuinely around the £100 mark will astound you compared to the cheaper stuff. I have a Manfrotto - can't go wrong there - but I'd be willing to bet the Benro, Slik, or the Redsnapper stuff in that pricerange will be an even better bang-for-buck.

I have the Manfrotto 055XPROB with the Manfrotto 322RC2 head, its rock solid and the pistol grip makes framing a picture a doddle, no knobs or levers to play with. Together with the quick release plates for me is the ideal.

I got the 190XPROB & 804RC2 from Morris Photo for ~£130 delivered. Very sturdy tripod and head.
