Good travel tripod

... has probably been discussed loads, sorry for the repeat question.

I am looking for a good lightweight travel tripod that would easily support my kit (see below) and not break in below freezing temperatures (i.e. no plastic!). Any suggestions? price ranges and should are consider second-hand/used, if yes any good dealers out there?

Camera: 5DMKII
lens: Heaviest - Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6
Flashgun: 580EXII

I use a Gitzo Mountaineer for travelling, carbon fibre, strong enough despite the lowest leg sections looking quite flimsy.

Sorry to hijack thread. I'm looking for a tripod too so searched the Gitzo Mountaineer into google. With those prices I could buy another camera :D:D:D
 
if any cheaper recommendations come up- i'd be keen to know also....

I have this, it's an amazingly light, compact and capable tripod. It can be got from Wilkinson Cameras for £220 now, not sure what prices are like elsewhere.
