Hello,

Could people please recommend good second hand camera websites please? I'm looking to buy a couple of new lenses, but have no idea where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you!

Another vote for Mifsuds who I have used as bricks'n'mortar and telephone ordered from.

A trip North up the A9 will get you to Ffordes. http://www.ffordes.com/home

Has everyone forgotten the one called Talk Photography ;).

For that, i'm pretty sure you have to be a member for a certain amount of time and have done a certain amount of posts before you're allowed to search the classifieds, so for me personally, that's of yet no use. =/

Registered for more than 2 months and 25 posts IIRC, so you should be able to view the classifieds, I could once I got to 25 posts.

If you have made 25 posts and been here 60 days then the forum software will automatically change your privileges to allow access to the classifieds. The 'upgrade' routine runs at intervals - it is not instant on reaching 25 posts. Expect to wait a few hours at most.

I would think you do qualify now.

You have more than 25 posts, and you've been here over 60 days.

Also "the photographer's bag" - Google it.

I've used them a few times and excellent to deal with.

Thanks for all the sites guys!

Also, thanks for pointing out I can used the Classifieds, didn't think I could yet so it's handy to know I can have a wee browse through them now... =D

Presumably, the reason for seeking out pre-loved kit is the price saving, but on this site, you’ll find new stuff for the same or better. http://www.hdewcameras.co.uk/ I’ve used them a few times: body, a few lenses, and they’re fine. I read a bit of name calling (“grey importers”) by people who charged or paid too much, but Canon UK are OK with them and the L series lenses have an international warranty anyway so…

Whilst you are free to join and extol the virtues of buying grey stock, it's best to keep it truthful.

Canon UK aren't OK with grey stock from HK, and there hasn't been a "interntional warranty" as you suggest for years.

The Canon warranty is now European (EWS), and this covers all bodies and lenses.

From the warranty, for any non EWS stock:

Any costs of secure transportation of the product to and from the Canon service centre will be borne by the customer. If the product is brought into a country which is not covered by EWS and which does not accept the warranty card, the product must be returned to the country where it was purchased in order to benefit from the warranty.

When I sold my Nikon D7000, MPB Photographic's offer was £100 better than anyone else's, the lowest was Gray's of Westminster.
