Found what I think is a good deal at Dixons for a Canon 550D (body only)

On sale at £511, use code NXJDIX50 for 10% off goods over 500 quid and then claim £30 cashback from Canon

So all in at a few pence under £430, pretty good price and tempted myself

Sooo tempted, wonder if quidco 6% discount would pay out as well, probably not. Might consult the banker but feel I know what the response will be.

Had a look at bestbuy but could not find 550d at £439. Ordered from Dixons with 18/55 for £519 delivered. Should get £30 rebate off canon and poss quidco. Bargain. Thanks tijuana taxi.:thumbs:

Look forward to seeing your first efforts, my daughter bought a 550D with 18-55mm and already has some very nice photos

Hopefully get my 550D from Dixons delivered today. Took the dosh on the 28th, heard nothing since Dear John email on the 29th.
I know bank hol and that but still not as good as some companies. Got the kit lens coming so prob look for an 18 -135 or longer.

Quidco tracked within a few hours so might get an extra £25.98 off as well :)

I've just ordered a 550D kit (18-55 lens) using a different code which gives £30 off orders over £500 - MVC30OFF (valid until end of today only) which makes the total £539 then £30 cashbcak from canon taking it down to £509 .

Thanks to OP I got the body only for £460 which is a bargain! Was so disappointed when they ran out of stock but managed to grab one the morning after.

Now anybody can recommend a good general non zoom lens?
