Popups! in a forum?

what's all that about, I don't remember being asked to agree to their use!

and it comes back every time you change forums despite clicking the "I dont want to see this" tag (whatever it says)
is it just me or is everyone else getting popups too?
 
You are probably seeing the notifications that "admin" send out when something changes?
It tends to stop countless RTM's and "bug" threads :)
 
It's not a popup like you mention...We will never have those on here.
It's a notification, it's part of the forum.
 
LOL, yeah it was about "GOOD NEWS you can now archive your classifieds" or something along those lines.

well it was popping up on my screen & I didn't instigate it. LOL
what is the definition of a popup? "A pop-up window is a type ofwindow that opens without the user selecting" (or in other words unsolicited information) :exit:
 
it wasnt a window - which means it wasn't a popup [/semantics]

it was however deeply irritating that it wouldn't dismiss when told - its gone now but i had to dismiss it about half a dozen times before it got the message
 
I only had to dismiss it the once :-)
 
It was too scared to reappear in front of you and get called princess, after being told once.

I told it that Ruth would be angry if it didnt leave me alone...I havent seen it since...I didnt need to click on it...:D
 
I'm waiting for one that says 'Would you like a cup of coffee T' and there it appears by magic:D

clearly ruth is more scary than me (actually i suspect its a browser issue - the work browser is heavily out of date)

I have a nice side and a hard side - I don't bshow the hard side very often , which is why you think of me as a cuddly pootle type person

I wonder if, after the grand tp meet in May, anyone would notice a shallow grave just outside Whipsnade's gates ;)
 
Long and narrow? Why not just lob the corpse into the mongooses' enclosure?
