I am currently looking to get rid of my Sigma 24-135mm and upgrade to something a little better, maybe a Canon of some kind. Its main use would be for motorsports, mainly rallying :)

I am looking to spend around £300. could be slightly flexible but not very.
any recomendations greatfully received.

Cheers... :)

Well for 300 quid you aren't going to get L glass...

I'd go with the trusty 70-300 IS - probably the best non-L Canon lens for motorsport.

thanks for that :)

Here's a list of the lenses i have so far...

Canon 18-55mm Kit lens (hardly use it)
Sigma 24-135mm (use it occasionally, not always happy with results)
Sigma 70-200mm (always used it until it broke, no off for repairs - 5th time with same problem :shake::shake:)
Canon 70-200mm f/4 L (now my main lens, bought it as a spare as need a big lens for motrosport)

i am looking to get rid of the 24-135 and get something to fill the gap to cover that zoom range

Sorry i didnt make myself clear first time round :bonk:

Cheers,

Ahhh well, looks like the the 24-105 is the puppy you are really needing then, but:

a) I'm not sure if it really is fast enough focusing - its a cracking lens but never tried it against racing vehicles

b) Its almost twice your budget

Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 EX.
I got one from Jessops and used the LENS10 discount code to bring it down to £252.
My only problem was it took 3 samples before I got one that didn't front focus.
