Hi everyone. Just joined this rather fine forum as I need help (in more ways than one)
I've been taking images for many years, ever since I was asked to do someones wedding when I was 14 (1982) and they came out rather well.
I've been a fan of high end compacts for years, but thought it about time to get seriously into my hobby as I've been made redundant and have a lot of spare time, so I was bought a Canon 400d (early Xmas) and immediately replaced the standard 18-55 with the IS version. And also have a Panasonic TZ-8, which is stunningly good for a compact. (must be the Leica lens hey)?
My main help cry is in "critique" ing some of my images, not all cos so many are just snapshots, and with ideas for themes as my mind has gone blank just lately. I love old buildings, but at this time of year the whole country is grey, makes a dull image, so I'm looking for ideas please.
Apart from that essay, Hello everyone, I'm going for a browse now! :)

ps, I hope you like my banner!!!! It's just my rubbish sense of humour!

Welcome aboard. I'm another newbie to the DSLR world and the forum, although like you have been taking pictures for years, and have done a wedding for an uncle.

I know what you mean about inspiration with the dark grey weather, but this seems a good place to try and find some.

Like the AVI, Sadly I had to sell my ninja earlier this year, and miss her loads, even though it is bloomin cold out now :(

Hey Jonjay, It's sad when you have to sell your bike, I had to sell mine last April due to heart problems and never having the inclination to ride anywhere. Still, the Mondeo is fast, warm, does loads to the gallon and has a killer stereo. lol.
Let's hope we both find some inspiration. :-)
