I'm watching the live feed via my xbox, don't really understand what the techies are talking about but at least their frequent applause seems positive!
 
It's all magic as far as I'm concerned, I'm just waiting for either the wild applause and cheering to signal it's landed or eerie silence with maybe some quiet sobbing in the corner to signal it's gone wrong :lol:
 
Ahaha same here, that was a bit of a groan there when they said they had no data! There will never be a silence worse than that during the Columbia shuttle disaster, gets me every time I see footage of the control room... :/

Ooohh prachutes open - velocity decreasing!! :D
 
Definately, it will be interesting to follow its progress and see if it finds anything of value
 
It certainly will! So much has been discovered already and yet we've not even scratched the surface, exciting times!

Higher def colour images from the rovers main camera mast (once deployed) are due in 3 days or so :thumbs:

Photos of rocks and sand will have never been so interesting or anticipated :lol:

Hope they remembered to put the memory card in, and to format it. Be a bit embarrassing if they get a load of shots from someone's last trip to Disneyland.

Good piece from dpreview on the cameras.

...and an appallingly bad, uninformed piece from a Daily Mail reporter who doesn't seem to know what a camera is, and who appears to think that it may one day be possible to speed up radio waves. Oh, and he calls Alpha Centauri a 'distant' star.
 
I think he will live to regret that article.... :) But Alpha Centauri is still a very, very long way away...
