Im looking for a good restaurant in china town next week. Its Chinese new year so bound to be a bit on the busy side, so somewhere that is likely to give you a decent amount of time to eat rather than rushing you out after 40 mins? Any thoughts?

does it have to be in China Town, or would the rest of Soho do? (an easy walk). rough budget and an idea of cusine(if not just chinese) would be really good to know

Mr Kong, the green painted shop round the corner in Lisle Street!

Last time I was in the West End looking for Chinese, I suggested Mr Kong to an old friend. "Good God!" was the reply "That's my favourite too; I was about to suggest Mr Kong!"

There is only one place to go

Wong Kei

Is this some sort of Simpsons funny name reference o_O after a quick google it does actually seem to exist :)

Is gotta be Chinese food, budget is no problem. I'll check those two out thanks.

Yup it is still going and the last I heard it was still serving up its own unique brand of service

Last time I went it was much better than it was before (disappointingly!). There was an article about how they were changing and the rude service etc was going to stop and they were to become more normal. Not been for a year or so though.

Getting in there after a few drinks was always good entertainment, and the shared tables (which I think they still do) often made for good entertainment also!.

I think that the service has mellowed, but the food is still good and probably cheaper than anywhere in London bar MaccyD's. I have a hospital appointment on Friday, so we shall try to incorporate it into our visit. We normally have lunch plus as much Jasmine tea as we can drink for about £10 to £15 - that is for two people, not each.
