Have been recently unfairly made redundant and hence wish to appeal to the employer and later take them to the cleaners. Anyone know anyone?

Employers have to follow very strict rules now when making redundancies, it's not just a case of last in first out or saying he's the oldest or the most useless.

As Sarah said ... the C.A.B. should be your first contact, also have a look here.

Thanks everybody for your advice and sympathies.

Went to the local C.A.B and the co-ordinator out there was referring to ACAS website to establish if my redundancy was unfair. In other words she was not qualified but just working voluntarily. Anyways, called ACAS and they asked me to file an appeal with the employer first and wait for at least 2 weeks before taking the case to Tribunal if the employer's response is not satisfactory.

think that most socilitors do an initial enquiry as a freebie to see if you have a case and if its worth them taking it on.

sorry to hear your redundancy, as was made redundant a couple of weeks ago myself although my employers where professional during the whole process still doesnt make for a nice situation.
