Good day to all!
Hello to everyone, my names Andy. I have just purchased my first dslr after using a small compact for a few years in the hope of taking it a bit more seriously. Joined the forum to see if I could get some tips on getting the most from my camera and hopefully expand my miniscule photography knowlegde. :bonk:

I'm in the same boat as you, there's some excellent advice on here and some stunning pictures that I can only dream of taking! :)
 
Welcome Andy! There's plenty of advice out there for people in your position. I was in your position about five years ago and advice certainly helps. Also, don't be afraid to experiment with your camera - play around with the settings and look at the results.

I'd suggest reading about the exposure triangle. If you get an idea of how aperture size, shutter speed and ISO value work together then that'll really give you a good head start.
