Got there just after 10. Quite busy but not too bad. Headed straight for the Nikon stand. Had a play with the 200mm f/2 and 300mm f/2.8. The 200 f/2 is a thing of beauty, I'm now trying to convince myself that I don't need a 300mm lens.

Then headed to the Sigma stand. The beast was out - 200-500 f/2.8! It really is as stupid looking as the the Internet pictures I've seen. Had a go on the Sigma 300mm f/2.8 but wasn't very impressed. After holding the Nikon it felt light and cheap and the auto focus was rubbish.

Then I did a quick lap. Stopped at the Hasselblad stand to have a go on the H3D II - didn't have a clue how to use it!?

Looked at some tripod heads and eyed a couple to short list.

Had a go on a sensor scope, seems like a good idea but I didn't think it was worth the money. Bought some senor cleaning swabs and ethanol.

It was now about 1:30 and it was pretty packed so I thought I would leave. On the way out I passed the Jacobs stand and noticed they had some good offers - Nikon D3 £2999, D200 £500! I ended up coming away from the stand with a D300 and 4gb CF card! Whoops.

Now I have to decide whether to sell my D80 or keep it as a backup, hmm..

Good day then! You will love the D300. I went yesterday and bought a bag from jacobs, only to get home and find its not much bigger than the one I have. Another stupid impulse buy!
Enjoy that D300! ;-)

They have 40Ds for £450 (B stock) - just to prove Canon are bestest! :p

Glad you had a good day Snake :) Impulse purchases are fun aint they ;)

Nice to see I was the only one tempted. Only mine was a Canon not a Nikon. Some really good deals.

And for balance I went to Purdy's stand
