I could appreciate it, if it was an ultra rare collectors item, made by the manufacturer, and did something special like made tea or did the hoovering as well... but in any practical sense, it's a total waste of time/money. For the money that sort of things costs, I'd rather go to some amazing place(s) and get the most out of the good cameras I have already. Oh but wait! I forgot! Gold plating... makes it take better photos, right? 
Sover Wong has a gold plated F2 on his website http://www.soverf2repair.webs.com/. Haven't a clue if it's a factory original, or created afterwards.
