Yes
First off, I have e-mailed them a few times with no response.

you always see it on tv, for those of you sad enough to watch  that flashes are all over!

I wasnt sure if anyone has been to WWE before and got in ok with a camera etc?

EDIT: for the non geeks in here. WWE= World Wrestling Entertainment lol

WWE ?
Why are abreviations used so much on here? Is it too much trouble to type out whole words?

Ah! Why would you want to take a camera in?

You like sweaty men :suspect:

I've been to RAW and Smackdown (Yes - I am a girl that likes WWE!) at the
O2 - WWE have no problems at all with photography, I think you are more likely to have issues with the venue itself. The O2 won't allow any "professional" kit and it's quite difficult to pin them down to an exact definition - I ended up just taking my compact...

Have a good time

But that mini trekker is just a bag with your sarnies in it, no camera gear in here sir.

I use to work on the bar at CIA in Cardiff and we had this here the one day and there didn't allow photos they where going around taking camera and deleting pictures.

Have you tried getting in touch with the O2? Or was it WWE that you tried to contact?

It was WWE.....never thought to ask the venue to be honest!

Will give them an email and see what happens.

i read a post in the last few days were the only restriction was maximum 6inch lens lol

A mate of mine went with his dad years ago when the WWF came to Manchester and his dad took his SLR and was asked to leave it at security/lockers or something else no pro cameras were allowed in.

Your best thing is to contact the venue by phone rather than the event organisers, it will be the venue staff who are enforcing what ever rules so they will know. Some places say no removable lens cameras at all others say no lenses over 6" long others say no professional cameras, unfortunately the guys on the doors don't know the difference between a 1D and a 500D so getting any sort of clarification on this is very difficult.

The tickets will probably tell you no cameras but people will get in with compacts.

O2 rules on cameras
The use of unauthorised cameras, video and/or sound recording equipment is prohibited and such items may be confiscated at the Ticket holder's own risk.

You'll struggle to get halfway decent shots inside the O2 anyway - the lighting will be very dim!

Best bet is to take a little compact along, if you're really set on getting some images. Unless you're virtually ringside, you won't be getting any shots particularly worth showing off - and you won't be able to move around.

My girlfriend bought us some tickets to WWE Smackdown at the O2 a couple of years ago, and the whole show was blatantly run for the TV cameras - not for the paying audience in the arena. Long breaks between bouts, multiple takes, long set-ups, out-of-sequence video recordings - very different to when I first went as a child to Earl's Court back in the days of Hulk Hogan.

WWE are very strict against Videography. Especially in the dark matches.

It's not always like that. I've been to see RAW at the Sheffield Arena and it was a live TV show, so I saw it exactly as it appeared on TV, no breaks etc. Obviously there's some setup time, but thats when the ad breaks were appearing on TV, or a video clip of some underlying storyline plot was playing on the big screen.

As for taking cameras in, I went to see the RAW revenge tour at Cardiff CIA a couple of years ago and I wasn't allowed to take in a 1000D with kit lens. I was then a marked man so to speak and security wouldn't even let me take pictures or videos with my phone despite numerous other people doing exactly that just a few rows infront of me.

You've bought a ticket for an expensive event, why not just get your money's worth and watch it rather than dicking around for a shot that really won't be what you actually want (ie the shots you see in the programme).

Just my usual tuppence on such matters.
