Hi

Julies gone and done it again, booked another holiday that is, were going to Anaxos in Lesbos, Greek island in October, it was a really cheap deal, when we went to Cuba in February, Julie didnt like the hotel and complained to first choice, and they gave us £184 refund, in vouchers, so she went and booked for Lesvos, great deal the vouchers and £303 for a week self catering for both of us and our eldest grandson, in this hotel Clicky Linky Sam grandson is really excited hes never been on a plane before.

Anyway has anyone been what sort of wildlife is there,? and any must sees

TIA

Dave

I could use a little holiday, even a weekend in the lakes would do me!

hope you enjoy lesbos :D

Sorry missed your post  We will enjoy it and were taking Arthur and Martha Monkehs with us,

I believe there lots of wild life birds butterflies and dragon flies but would still like to hear from anyone who has bee for the must see things, were staying in the Northwest so sunsets should be on the list

Dave

First Choice website  dont forget we used our vouchers total cost was £487 still a great deal, good value for 3 of us

Julie went into the shop as you cant use the vouchers on line, and they tried to charge £40 extra, but they accepted we saw it on the net for above price,

Ps that price includes £40 for a sea view studio too, so if you dont mind not having a sea view it would be £40 cheaper, you can also get a welcome pack thats £15 but as we arrive early afternoon we'll just go to a local super market

Sounds like a good deal Dave, enjoy

I really don't understand the how travel companies can offer holidays from mainland Britain at these prices yet us poor lot in Northern Ireland don't get these bargains.
A week's holiday anywhere in Europe in October will probably cost per person what you paid for 3

And don't get me started on the "July Fortnight" when prices double :bang:

It's actually cheaper to book from Heathrow or Gatwick and add the connecting flight from Belfast on

Rant over and sorry for hijacking your thread Dave.

Paul

Thanks Paul

Yeh it sounds great, were going to love it first time taking a grandchild as well so should be fun,

Julies just good at finding cheap holidays, it the same with us it miles cheaper to fly from gatwick or heathrow

Dave

Lots David, we hired a car and did the Island to death, went to Castles, petrified forest, some fab colours in the petrified trees, got a couple of candids of fishermen mending nets, and some very picturesque fishing villages and churches, and some nice sunsets, I'll post them when I have PPd them, really it was just a family hol with our eldest grandson 5yrs as he kept saying he wanted to go on a plane and swim in a pool, for him really, he surprised us he was really good, and loved flying looking out of the windows, at the clouds and land, especially when we flew over some snow covered mountains, he had a disposable camera with 27 shots, it last about 10 mins  bet I know what he whats for Christmas a camera. we did a lot of sight seeing and kept him interested, he loved the history of all the places

I've been home less than 2 hours and here I am. What a sad life. Glad you had a good time. I went to the US - New England region, to see the autumn foliage. Some stunning colours. Also Philadelphia, New York, Boston - 1800 miles, 10 states. I envy your 27 degs. I got their coldest October in a 100 years, not much above freezing a lot of the time, but it warmed up in to the 50s and 60s F when I came back south on the last days. A lot of the inland area had a foot of snow but I missed it all. It will take me a few days to sort some snaps out. Time for some sleep now.
