Any advise on what else I might need would be great.
Also, how do you mix flights and tripods? Stick it in my luggage or carry it on as hand luggage?

Also, I put together a blog to post photos to when I can. Just getting to know my way around atm but will sort it out tmoz.
To be honest I wanted it to look like Gary's but I cant figure it out lol.
Just a nice simple, one photo per page type thing, if anyone can help out it would be appreciated.

Anyway here mine

Thanks, Matt

I lived for a year in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Loved it to bits :), and plan to go back one day with the kids.

You do realise that you will need some clothes :p, don't you  .... otherwise, that's a nice kit you've packed there.

I don't see a Cir. Polariser anywhere in your kit, I think you may want to have one for your walk-about lens (the 17-55). There are a lot of wonderful buildings all around, and lights etc. A CP would help cut out some unwanted reflections.

Have fun :)

Clothes, really, I hadnt thought about that haha ;)
Im just taking a few bits and going to buy clothes there.
This is only my second time abroad lol, my first was NYC. Why did you come back to the UK?

Ahh yes filters, thank you. Hmm i think I only have 77mm filters that fit my 24-70 2.8 but I wasnt going to take that. Its not sharp compared to the 17-55 I just got. Maybe something else to add to the shopping list.

Too excited about the travel to sleep , are you?

Why did I come back from Hong Kong? Or was that a rhetoric question to yourself for coming back from NYC?

And sorry, but which 24-70 you're talking about that isn't as sharp as the 17-55? Don't they both take 77mm filters?

Buying clothes in HK is a good move, they are very cheap there; and you can get tailor-made suites for peanuts.

Yeah, I think I am haha. Plus the relief of finishing all my assignment before I go.

That was a question to you.
When did you live there?

Sorry the 24-70 sigma is 82mm filter, the 17-55 nikon is 77mm.
Shweet, I might have to get a suit then, Im going to a party in China too so need to get something smart. And its my 20th Birthday when Im there.
I should really go to bed soon, I have to get a few bits sorted today and then work till 11pm.

I lived there in 1993, when I worked for a UK bank that had its HQ in Hong Kong (HQ has since moved to UK).

My term to stay there was for the one year, after which I was posted to Saudi Arabia to head Retail Credit for the same bank's affiliate in Saudi.

Work there was great. Everything was always a busy rush, which meant you'd learn more in 1 day in HK than a week in UK. It was good, while it lasted.
