Going about portraits...

Hi all,

for my mock exam in art my choice was Identity for this choice i am going to do some portrait photos of my friends ect ect. Although i know them really well, how do i go about doing it and what tips should i have for taking these types of shot ?

natural window light? Makes nice moody shots,especially for the blokes!

what camera are you using?

im using canon 350d with kit 18-55 lens

have you got something you can practice with in front of a window to get shadows right etc or will you be using some studio lights at college?

Well im at school doing gcse's and theyve just scrapped all the photography stuff as nobody was doing it.... so it looks like it will just be out and about
