Godox Fuji Trigger

I've got the older AD-360's without TTL but presumably this trigger will open up HSS to me. I'm also guessing that the receiver would need to be changed to a newer version?

The original AD360 does do HSS, just not automatically and yes just change the FTR-16 for the XTR-16

Thanks Mike, thought this was the case but you've saved me a bit of reading to confirm. (y)

Not forgetting the Olympus/Panasonic trigger also just announced.

So that's now: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji and Oly/Pan

Great news, although I just bought a Cactus V6 11 but not got round to using it yet. :(

On the 360 you press the mode and set buttons simultaneously, there is a lightning bolt below and lines linking them, is that on the 180? Never used one and have no rear image to hand

Mike
I'll have a look. Thanks

Looks like it does do hss with a suitable trigger. Didn't know that. :)

Does it work with any make of flash gun? Like the 'Air' system does?
All this new stuff comes around so fast I can't keep up. I don't know how all these systems work with each other.

No. These Godox triggers only work with suitably enabled Godox flash units (or Pixapro branded, same thing; ditto Flashpoint and Cheetah in the US).

As a rule, it's better to assume that nothing works across brands - which is true with only rare exceptions, and indeed some same-brand products are not compatible. The Air system (Profoto?) only works with Profoto.

It's a nightmare, I agree. If manufacturers are using proprietary systems in the hope of locking people into their brand, it's having the opposite effect and shutting them out.

Godox has receivers fitting canon and nikon speedlights but if they can actually translate from nikon, sony or fuji over godox radiosignals to canon speedlites and do ttl and hss I dont know.

From http://flashhavoc.com/godox-flash-system-overview/
“Another major feature is the intercompatibility between Canon, Nikon, Sony, M4/3 and Fuji systems. So all of the speedlites and strobes in the Godox 2.4GHz system now provide Auto Sensing radio slave modes for Canon, Nikon, Sony, M4/3, and Fuji .

This means you can use Canon, Nikon, Sony, M4/3, and Fuji version transmitter units, or master speedlites, with the same set of slave strobes and speedlites, and they will automatically switch to the corresponding slave mode as required. And this includes full TTL functionality where available.

This also means a photographer (or photographers) using Canon, Nikon, Sony, M4/3, and Fuji cameras can effectively share the same set of strobes at the same time.”

Been there, done that with Canon and Nikon without issue, now to add something new with Fuji, it really is great gear

+1
Though using canon or nikon flash on godox recievers I havn't.

So I have a XT10 with the following equipment. Whats the best way I get off camera TTL flash?(Or most efficient with the gear I already have)? I've played around with the 622C trigger and managed to get the flash to fire when in legacy mode but found it to be inconsistent.

1x YN622C TX
4x YN622C
4x Yongnuo 600EX RT
1x Godox X1T for Canon
1x Godox AD600B TTL

*Edit - I'm guessing I could just buy the X1T trigger for Fuji, but I'd prefer to use smaller flash with the Fuji if possible

Yes definitely the trigger ;) or

Edit. But apparently no HSS since xt10 is a group B camera and no rear curtain sync either :(

Waiting for my trigger to arrive and I thought I try to get everything else aligned up whilst I'm waiting.
I've ordered an xtr-16 so I can control my ad180 through the usb socket. Does anyone know what I can get to fire a studio strobe. I just need a receiver with a 3.5mm socket. Can I get these that work at 2.4Ghz with my x1t-f? I've looked around but can't seem to find anything.

Godox also make an X!R to match the transmitter that can be used

I have been given wife authorisation to purchase the Godox TT350F I will order this and use it with my wonderful AD200:fuji::fuji::fuji:

What strobes?
I have 3 Bowens strobes. Older ones, esprit and geminis. I'm just after something I can plug a 3.5mm back into to fire them from my godox xt16 transmitter. I'm not after any smart functions (obviously).

So apparently I need an x1r, there is nothing smaller that will do the job. Seems a bit over the top but I guess they are only £30 each. Might keep an eye out on ebay.

Has any one asked the question if the new Godox/fuji units work second curtain and hss with Xe2 or xe2s cameras as they are not shown as being in any group.
Though the cameras do support 2nd curtain with fujis own flashes.

I'll try and check later as I have an xe2

Both the x1t-f and the tt350f work with rear curtain but not hss on the xe2. It does however seem to sync at 1/250 instead of the rated 1/180.

I have found that there are some caveats, :(when setting 1/250 with a fuji flash on the XE2 v4.
If you have have set an aperture and the shutter speed to 1/250. Then the actual shutter speed as shot, varies between 1/200, 1/250 and 1/320 second, The first two are fine with no dark band, the 1/320 however does produce a small dark band at the base of the shot.
It would seem that to play safe the 1/180 setting is correct:)

I am not sure I know why this happens.....

My X30 is far nicer than my XE2 to use with flash, as it does not need HSS as it has a bladed shutter. and syncs at all speeds. nor does it black out the same or as long, when using red eye preflash.

Just ordered one from Amazon for £26 if anyone is interested.

Mine arrived this week, at the studio tomorrow so will test and get to grips before a model shoot on Monday weather permitting!

So, I tried making a best offer on a few of these as I wanted a second one for my other body. This seller accepted an offer of £30 so I thought I'd share it
