personally I believe their estates should pick up the repair bill...
Heavy price to pay for being a numpty but it's not clear from that why the entered to water. Could have been just dicking about or maybe for a valid reason, to help somebody. Dunno??
i see it was reported this morning as ,,,,four people went in for a swim and only two came out and reported the other two missing
will they get in ?

I would have found it more sickening if any of the lifeboat crew had been lost.
Great idea that, go give their grieving families a whacking great repair bill.
I'd be utterly ashamed of that comment if I were you.
Good thing I'm not you then isn't it, as I think it's perfectly resonable...if when I had my car crash I'd have damaged any road furniture be that Armco, signage etc I'd be expected to foot the bill for it, that or any insurance I carried to cover me for such instances...
Let's remember that the lifeboats a funded by charity, on the whole are nearly completely operated by volunteer crews why should they as an organisation suffer extra expense on repairs because of this...

So by that logic, if you'd have died there at the roadside after your car crash should your family have been given a bill for fixing the road signs? Should they have paid for the ambulance?
I know full well the RNLI is a charity organisation but so are most air ambulances, if you'd been airlifted to hospital after your accident should you have footed the bill? Should your family have paid if you'd have died?
We have friends who had a £4k bill added to their insurance claim to pay for the air ambulance and other damages after their sons car left the road, so it does happen.
I'm sure those that are being a bit heartless here would sing a different tune if it was their kids.
And I'm pretty sure that everyone of you have done something stupid/dangerous as a child..
Yet my god quick to condemn![]()

Yep, what I'm asking Matt here is whether he really thinks it's such a brilliant idea to go to grieving families right now and say 'stuff the fact you've just lost a loved one, you've got 2 weeks to pay up'.
It's not likely they would be approached in such a fashion now is it? Being a touch melodramatic now for effect I think
How typical of you to try turn this round. Judging from the tone of your original post, Matt, it seemed that's precisely what you wanted. Perhaps you need to put some more careful consideration into how your words come across before you allow your fingers to blurt out what's going through your mind.
what do you mean by "How Typical" I rarely backtrack on my opinion on a subject,
