Gobos hit the 21st century

Not so much a gobo, more one of the old front projection gizmos, resurrected from the 70's/80's

What I like about it - it uses a flashgun, so you're not buying a whole new light just for this purpose.

You can change the look by changing the lens - again, using stuff we all have too much of already lying around.

I might be in the market, off to watch some more of the gallery stuff.

Or you could use a bit of patterned net curtain over an LED light :)

Its a bit like the 80's front projection system with no model lamp or fancy screen that made it all work. the problem with it as i see it is somebody in China is already making a cheap version of it as it is only a slide holder on a lens mount, no optics, electronics, so the us makers will have to sell a lot quickly to make any money, similar thing happend to the Rayflash Ringflash ad on, i bought mine for £ 150.00 and 3 months later there's a copy on ebay for £ 30.00.
