Someone who never heard of talk photogrpahy and wont be reading your post telling them to go away :) Post #4 seemed like you had wrong end of stick thats all :)

They actually get returns on this, a significant number of hits and usually a few interested individuals who will purchase what is being sold, be it online wives, fake diplomas or cheap kitchens. Whether the items ever arrive, or the returned addressed are harvest for other purposes depends on the reason for that attack, but its' generally worthwhile to the spammer for a few minutes work.

Google (and other) spiders regularly index the content of popular forums for their search engines.
If the spammers can post "Gormless Guru Guatemala 555-1234" to a few thousand busy forums, anyone actually misguided enough to be searching for one of those will (they hope) find their SEO'd entry on the first page.
It doesn't matter to them if they get splatted, as long as they get indexed first. That's why they post so much; it takes longer to clear up, and every second counts.

The key has long been missing so it can be weaponised in a ladies (or moderator’s) 100 denier stocking to act as a cosh for burglars, conmen or politicians..

But without links their posts are useless and for anybody stumbling across them (including google) they are meaningless. Is TP removing the links?
