Hi,
When I look at peoples photos on sites like 500 pixels the pics all look "glossy" or "shiny" Mine never seem to look like that! Is there a post-process that can achieve this look?

Not really sure what you mean. Can you link to an example?

Nice shot! But I don't think it has had any particular post-processing. Just a beautifully timed, well exposed photo.

THIS

Just looks so shiny!

It's stunning light that your seeing there  and if your referring to the actual reflection that would could be really still water  I'll be honest I'm not really understanding your question fully...but that image you've liked to only guessing but that could be a rather well processed HDR or a very well processed single exposure, I'd also venture to say its had a little but of a boost to saturation, clarity and a light tweak to a slightly warmer white balance

Seeing that photo I think some post-processing has been done to make it shiny. Though I am not expert enough :)

Have a go with levels and/or curves adjustment, that really helps give the "glossy" look I find.

Glossy is a term to do with texture and is inapplicable to screen images. You seem to be reacting rather to tonal range & distribution. If you had a programme with curves and levels adjustments to play about with, you might start to see what goes on. Ha! - just as Keith said, above!

Think it's also a lot to do with the type of screen the pics are being viewed on- on my iPad retina they look a lot more glossy than they do on my PC monitor !
Will have a play in PS and see what I can do!
