I love glass and I love working in my studio. This was my first attempt, on my own, at glasswork.

And really, I never would have attempted it or even understood the concepts behind what I did, had it not been for using a mentor.

A tough choice for a model, but I loved this $1 dollar castoff.

Thanks for the link. I reviewed the tutorial but it really does not address the type of glasswork I like to do...and the quality I am aiming for..

This was a more recent project.

where did you learn from?

Dear Sir 123,

Before I answer your question, let me tell you a true story.

Last year, I felt I was going nowhere and in no direction with my photography. I was at the point where I was taking fewer and fewer pictures, and not enjoying myself at all. I expressed these feelings on another forum and a member recommended her experienced mentor.

My PM to him was the most significant step I had ever taken to further my photography skills. Since then, I have had regular mentoring sessions that covered important information such as camera settings, shooting, lighting, layouts, post production, artistic intent, etc. I discovered that my knowledge base has grown exponentially.

Although the lessons were based on what I brought to the table and asked to learn, we covered many other topics - and I even learned things that I did not think that I needed to know! The above images are a part of my growth. After I had a few basics about glasswork, I shot the cut glass vase as homework, then the wineglass was work we did in sessions. There is another set beyond this involving an actual wine pour that I will save for later.

Since I do not advertise, I will PM you.

Best to you and happy image hunting,

Marie
