Yes, I mentioned in an earlier post about how annoying this is, but so far I haven't clicked on anything that I wasn't able to back up from.Yes as i say some are ok eg search / you / notifications but then once you look at someone elses photos you are faced with more unfamiilar ones that seem to be follow them, clicked on that earlier on someone i had not planned to follow then unfollowed them which then you think it's going to notify them of such etc. they need hover over text.
You are way ahead of me, I've only uploaded my three "trial" uploads, and got sidetracked into other things.I think anything new is 'different' and takes time to get used to.
I suppose it depends on what you want from it - I've uploaded photos, I can link here, found a couple of togs to follow, got followed and given and received 'appreciations', so I guess not bad for 24 hours![]()
I find using chat.gpt quite a shortcut; e.g. "I am using the website glass.photo. Can you tell me if there is a way to do ...."Getting help in Glass.
I can't find any help in Glass, and the nearest thing to help pages are the faq pages, but even those are difficult to find once you are into the photo sharing pages of Glass.
Unless someone can suggest something better, the convoluted approach I have found is to...
1. go to your home page (click on the head icon to get there if not there by default)
2. click on the gear icon on your profile picture to open the settings page.
3. Open the community guidelines option on the settings page
4. In the community guidelines page, scroll down to the footer, and select the FAQ option.
There has to be a better way than this, but so far this is all I've found.
The other interesting link from the Settings page is the "Provide Feedback" one, which lists all the suggestions for new features and where you can add new suggestions.
I'm far from a beginner, but I said in another post I was feeling a bit intimidated about posting on Glass: because of how good the photographs are.My only concern is I'm still a beginner really and my photos may seem out of place on there....
I will give it a go though I think
Might be worth alerting the owners to this thread. They may be happy to review it for suggestions
Not really into ChatGPT, but a google search often comes up with answers to things. As long as you ignore the AI summary, which often contains complete nonsense.I find using chat.gpt quite a shortcut; e.g. "I am using the website glass.photo. Can you tell me if there is a way to do ...."
I've just had a look and I don't think they obviously look out of place, but if you want feedback aimed at improving your photography, as I suggested in my earlier post, I think the forums on here are a better place to get it.I am @feistyram on there if anyone wants to follow me (no probs if not). Only two images up there so far
As Graham says, there are varying standards there (IMO) but a good idea to think about what you post and see what else in your genre has been posted, to assess the standard. My only concern is I'm still a beginner really and my photos may seem out of place on there....
I think if I did that I would not post very many photos at all......I'm far from a beginner, but I said in another post I was feeling a bit intimidated about posting on Glass: because of how good the photographs are.
However, they aren't all "that good". The more you look, the more you realise the full range of work, of varying standards, on Glass. I still don't think anyone use Glass for an indiscriminate dumping of all their photographs, the way it seems that Flikr is sometimes used, but at the same time there is still a variation in quality.
One option might be to post pictures here on an appropriate TP forum for critique and improvement, and then only post the one you feel have been well received onto Glass: using Glass to showcase your best work.
It has crossed my mind to let Glass know this thread exists, but still thinking about it.
I'm not sure that you will find that level of interaction - it is quit low-key really. If I find the comments I get on glass are a bit dismissive, then I will 'learn my place' and go back to Flickr! if I find it supportive, I shall stay
From what I have seen from the commenting, it tends to be more supportive than dismissive. I don't think people post on Glass to get help to improve, but rather, the pictures are just accepted for what they are.I think if I did that I would not post very many photos at all......
I think I'll see how I go. I won't use it as a dumping ground but what I consider a 'good' photo for me, others may think is awful generally. If I find the comments I get on glass are a bit dismissive, then I will 'learn my place' and go back to Flickr! if I find it supportive, I shall stay
I will also consider posting on here too for advice etc. I take a fair few photos with my phone (just because I have it with me)
I have collated (hopefully now pinned as the first post in this thread) a list of TP members Glas.photo sites just as a resource for this thread. This thread has come up at just the right time for me, I signed up for Glass a while ago but never got as far as starting the trial ( putting in my payment details) as I absolutely HATE giving my details when I might not continue to use the service, the fairly positive comments so far and the fact that flickr has put its prices up again is making me seriously look elsewhere. This forum is pretty much the only place I share my images outside of FB, so being able to share here easily is a pretty important part of choosing a new photo site, I do have a 500px too but have never really taken to it for some reason![]()
Sounds goodFinding my way around pretty well now, I searched for photos of my genre and found a few togs doing good street photography so commented and followed, now have some following me.
It's a much slower pace than Flickr and my 'stream' now includes the latest photos from those I follow, so I'm not bombarded with stuff I have no interest in, though I can search for other genres easily enough.
I discovered how to use 'Series' to create 'albums' and how to add photos to a 'Series', or create a new 'Series' for a photowalks in a new city for example.
I currently have around 6,000 photos on Flickr, but many of those are just there for somewhere to put them, they don't all represent what I think to be my best work. I'm not sure that anyone at Glass has thousands of photos, it seems more tens and hundreds - maybe not taking many, maybe just not showing them.
I have no problem storing photos (Prime + local storage + Flickr at present) so it maybe a time for me to be much more selective in my selections ... however taking photos, processing them and posting them is all part of the enjoyable part of this hobby for me.
Enjoying Glass at the moment, we will see how it progresses.![]()
Given you all a followTP members on Glass.
This is a collation of Glass.photo pages owned by TP members and mentioned in this thread. It's not intended as a long-term resource, (I don't plan on keeping it going for ever!) but I thought it might be useful feature while members are trying out and learning about Glass.
I assume, that once someone wants to publicise their Glass, photo site properly, they will add a link to it in their signature.
If you don't want your link in this collated list. let me know and I will remove it. And if I have missed your link in a post to this thread, and you want it added, also let me know.

Does that mean, I actually have to post something nowGiven you all a follow
That's my best guess, and it can sometimes be quite literal - when I searched for 'Street' it showed me ... well streets!if it produces nil results it displays what it thinks are the best alternatives?
It seems to rely heavily on AI for the search, and tries to find pictures that look like they come from a particular place. I know that my searches for 'Cornwall" while bringing up many pictures of Cornwall, also brings up Cliffs and beaches from Wales and Scotland that look a bit like Cornwall.I haven't signed up yet but found the search facility gave answers that were not especially accurate e.g. my search term Norwich gave me images of Boston in Lincolnshire. Similar Suffolk Landscapes produced canal images.
Whether this is down to the search engine and if it produces nil results it displays what it thinks are the best alternatives? Or is it just me
Yes limited options and limited in the number you can apply, however it's a small operation so I guess there is a priority scale.I wonder if they will extend the tagging facility at some stage. Although, tbh, I'm not too fussed about that
Have you found the feedback page which may answer this question for you and @inquisitive_chap on what features are coming?Yes limited options and limited in the number you can apply, however it's a small operation so I guess there is a priority scale.
Had seen it but never clicked as I assumed it was only for giving feedback.Have you found the feedback page which may answer this question for you and @inquisitive_chap on what features are coming?
It allows you to upgrade existing requests, and there are comments on features that have been taken up, or being considered.Had seen it but never clicked as I assumed it was only for giving feedback.![]()
Who's going to tell him?I even managed to get an appreciation from Tom Watson (co founder)
Ok ok so I got a bit excited. I guess everyone gets one and a commentWho's going to tell him?![]()
I didn't :-(Ok ok so I got a bit excited. I guess everyone gets one and a comment![]()
Ooops!I didn't :-(

It's alright. I'll get over itI got an appreciation from Tom . He may have been on holiday when you joined Graham!
Doesn't seem obvious how so I assume it's not possible. I'll have a proper try on PC later and see if it orders by "last added to" or if it's ordered by when the series was created....Can anyone tell me if you can re-order series? Possibly a question best answered by @EdinburghGary as he has been using it the longest.
Not reordering pictures within a series (which I know you can do) but re-order the actual series as listed in the sidebar.
I know I can try it for myself once I have more than one series, but because you can't make your page private, I want to plan ahead before I start adding pictures. I'm already going to feel bad about deleting pictures that people have already commented on
