Gitzo tripod

Im trying to add a few things into my insurance and need to find the serial number for my Gitzo 5541LS tripod. I cant see it on the tripod anywhere and i dont have the box around. Anyone with aGitzo see if they can find the location of the serial number for me to give me an idea where to look. There is a silver sticker on the inside however there are no numbers printed on it and Photoguard online says it needs the serial.Cheers.

Its ok folks, i peeled the silver sticker off and could very faintly see the serial numbers.

Morning Mate, I'm trying to find the Serial Number on my Gitzo, also for insurance purposes, and for the hell of me I can't find it! Where abouts was it one yours?

I have a Gitzo Basalt GT2931

Mine had a small silver sticker on one of the legs however the print had long since faded off but i could just make out the numbers with a magnifying glass.

As Mark says, inside the leg (the one with the Gitzo label) near the head.

It should be on a label - maybe it's come off?

No little label on mine! :-( Think I remember it coming with one on, but came off pretty quickly. Is it not etched onto the frame anywhere?

It's not stamped or etched on my Basalt GT2931 - just has the label. Have you still got the box?

You would have thought with a company making a quality product that they would make the effort to have the serial number permanently on the tripod somewhere. My little silver label is very faded with only minimal use.

I've still got the box and everything else....is it on that somewhere?

I also would have thought it would have been etched onto the frame somewhere....

Sorry, just had a look and it's not on the box (the only numbers are barcode numbers). It's not on the little guarantee pouch thingy either.

Maybe the shop/supplier has a record of it.

Cheers fella....I might get in touch with the insurance people and talk to them about it. I have the box and purchase receipts.
